Melchior Overdevest is a self-taught photographer focused on documenting the built environment. His academic background in Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam ultimately led him to shift his attention from theory to the physical world.

He is driven by the idea that the richness and complexity found in nature are equally present in human-made environments and in society at large. Through his work, he documents these structures and systems as a way to better understand the past, present, and possible futures of our collective development.

Melchior is also a certified drone pilot (A2 licence), allowing him to extend his visual perspective beyond the ground plane and into layered spatial narratives.
